JAZZ at Fourcroft – The Dukes and The Duchess – 26th February

The Dukes and the Duchess aim to create an original sound, using the seminal melodies of the legendary composer Duke Ellington. The nine-piece line-up is one that Ellington used for his “little big band sound”.

Most of the arrangements are penned by saxophonist and chief arranger Rob Marks who, like Ellington, writes for the individual musicians in the band. Under the leadership of Jim Luxton, some of the most experienced jazz musicians in Wales appear in this line-up,  beautifully assisted with the vocals of Sarah Benbow.
